Hugin Review

Hugin is not just a program, it is a project with contributors around the world. The goal is to create an easy to use cross-platform panoramic imaging toolchain based on Panorama Tools. To use the assistant you need to install at least one additional program, but when that is done the setup is almost automatic and the panoramas are of excellent quality. There are provisions for optimizing exposure as well as lens parameters and image orientation in seven different combinations. Camera properties can also be set separately.

Despite being a professional level program with enough control possibilities to satisfy the most demanding user, Hugin is remarkably easy for the novice to use. One can produce excellent quality panoramas on the first try and easily tweak exposure, alignment and the type of panorama without knowing anything about what goes on under the hood.
